The Demonstration School of Thepsatri Rajabhat University is located in Muang district, Lopburi, Thailand. Exactly the address is at 321 Narai Maharaj Road, the Lae Chubsorn Subdistrict. The school is still part of Thepsatri Rajabhat University considering that the school information only can be found on the Website of Thepsatri Rajabhat University. The history of this school was started in 1920. Before demonstration school was made, Thepsatri Rajabhat University come up first. It was founded as primary school for girls named “Lawasri School”. It was moved to a new location on Wichayen Road and offered secondary education in 1921 from the temporarily location on Chantarapisarn Pavillion in Narai Ratchaniwet Palace.

The school was renamed "Thepsatri Wittayalai School" in 1936, and started to offer primary education, secondary education and teacher training courses by wide vision of Field Marshal P. Pibulsongkram, the Prime Minister at that time. It became a school for girls called "Thepsatri Wittayalai School" in 1940. Then, the school was moved to the present location on Narai Maharaj Road in concurrence with the new city plan. The school was renamed "Thepsatri Teachers College" in 1958. The very first teachers college in the area offered a range of courses in teacher training. In 1974, Thepsatri Teachers College began to offer undergraduate degrees in education and later in 1985 provided courses for undergraduate degrees in Sciences and Arts.

His Majesty King Bhumipol Adulyadej gave a new name for the college “Rajabhat Institute Thepsatri” On February 14, 1992. Next, In June 2004, according to Rajabhat University Act, it became Thepsatri Rajabhat University. After that, TRU founded a demonstration school called “The Demonstration School of Thepsatri Rajabhat University usually called by Satit Thepsatri school in Thai language”.

The demonstration school of Thepsatri Rajabhat University consists of Mathayom 1 to 6. The school has three school building those are building 7, building 15 and building 18. On building 7 those are classrooms, computer laboratories, dance rooms, ASEAN rooms, Library, English teacher room, Math teacher room, Photocopying room, Medical room and administration room. In the building 15 those are classrooms, science laboratories, music rooms and cookery room. In the building 18 there are 18 classrooms, meeting rooms, science teacher rooms, etc. The school also has the yard for Basketball, soccer and volleyball. The school also provides extra-curricular activities, such as Basketball, Volly, Dance, ASEAN club, etc. All classrooms have air conditioner, electrical, LCD, speaker and loudspeaker equipment.

Active days in The Demonstration School of Thepsatri Rajabhat University is five days, Monday-Friday. Everyday the students should come at 8:00 am for the ceremony, praying, and meditation. Usually they will gather around in the yard. But, some of them are standing outside and some of them sit down in the front of their classes. Because the building in the reparation time. So, they couldn’t gather around in the yard.

The buildings in the Thepsatri Rajabhat University itself are around 18-21. The number of building is according to the order of the year of it built. That’s why the building for demonstration school doesn’t have the same number. 

Teaching system

If Indonesia doesn't have many secondary school that become a part of university instances, It's different case for demonstration school of Thepsatri Rajabhat University. Even, the teacher for English subject are also a part of English department in University.

 

The period for English subject is more than 20 period in a week. Basically, one class will get 2 period of English subject in a week. one period is about 50 minutes.   

Materials

Teacher in demonstration school of Thepsatri Rajabhat university usually use a text book to be a main reference.

Other  sources

Other sources, they usually take it from the internet. But It doesn't really need to be there. Mostly they will develop the activity from the text book or outdoor activity like going to library.

measurement and evaluation

The measurement and evaluation depends on the skill that want to measure. Teacher will always tell the students in advance if they want to take the score of students or if they will have quiz in the next meeting.  So, the students will prepare themselves.

Most of the measurement are recorded and could be look in the students notebook. That's for writing. As for speaking, teacher will have kind of rubric with them. Then, how about reading and listening measurement? Oh they already have an exercise in the text book. So, literally teacher will only provide the audio for listening according to the topic.

Authentic Assessment

The authentic assessment was applied during the learning process in Demonstration scholl of Thepsatri Rajabhat University. When the learning happened, teacher were actively move around to check the students one by one and to make sure that they were really understood of the lesson, sometimes students were asked to answer to some question suddenly related to the topic.

Sometimes, at the end of the learning process, teacher will give feedback. Teacher couldn't always give feedback at the end of the class because the time is short and sometimes they will have homework to do. So, the students will get feedback on the next meeting. Even though feedback are not always to be happened, there still self assessment that students did.

CURRICULUM

Demonstration school of Thepsatri Rajabhat University use The Basic Education Core Curriculum  B.E. 2551 (A.D. 2008) 

English become a part of Foreign Language in this Curriculum. There are four main goals on learning English.

3. Language and Relationship with Learning other areas

4. Language and Relationship with Community and the World
