I'm a curious learners. Sometimes I'll get overconfident and sometimes I'll be like a turtle-shy-. It's get better i guess as i get older by the time. But trust me, i can manage it now though my shyness will suddenly come up whenever i learn new things or i have to face new environment. Despite all side of me, as a learner i think we have a duty to keep learn and develop our skills. both micro skill or macro skill. Through this program held by SEAMEO, it's a very good chances for pre-service student teacher to gain another experience both in teaching and living in ASEAN countries.

                  Beside, it's already a public secret that common people have a judgement on the rumors. Let's say i have worries that maybe people will underestimate me because i use veil. Then, i will become a minority if i go to another country. I'm afraid that people were scared of me being smile all the time. But then, there's a say you will know the taste of apple after you taste it. Rumors is just a rumors spread by uneducated people. Everyone in Thailand are warm towards me. Even, whenever i buy any foods, the seller will tell me which one are able and vice versa. Just in case you haven't know that moslem couldn't eat pork and in Thailand most of the meat you can easily get is pork. So, it's convenient to me find them tell me that some food shouldn't be honestly due to ingredient in it.

Ah i like Thai people, they were pretty much similar with Indonesian. By joining this program all of us student teacher will get better experience. Let me say, it'll be language of course, lifestyle, ancient culture, tolerance, people and family, value, and oh my many more. So, indeed this program give us a better insight.

procedure of practicum:

my practicum period was started on 1st of august and end on 29th of august. It was well done as the plan. The first week is for orientation and observation. The second week is for teaching assistant. The third week is for teaching practice and the last week is for evaluation and culture exchange. It already includes 20 hours teaching period.

Challenges of practicum:

There will be challenges wherever you go to the place you've never been to. This case, the first challenge is language. I don't know about other place, but in my place that I've been assigned to, the awareness of English is still little. 90% i will use my body language. Then, because the period is not long enough for me to understand curriculum well and deep i can only say that Indonesia has a better curriculum. It because when i teach grade 4 which is grade 10 in Indonesia, i still use a level of material for grade 8 in Indonesia.

 

Suggestion:

I hope for the next batch, every receiving university will seriously inform the student teacher about the situation of the dorm-mate,room-mate, or host family. Then, give a better day schedule. 

That's all, i wanna give a big thanks to all people who involved on this program. Also for the committee please keep this great program and do the evaluation continuously.
